Cameron Plain has made good progress through the AFC Bournemouth ranks since joining the club in 2018.
He graduated to the development squad after successfully completing his two-year scholarship with the under-18s.
Plain trains regularly with the first team and has been named in matchday squads as the back-up goalkeeper.
He was rewarded for his exploits with a contract extension which he signed in the summer of 2022.
The shot-stopper joined the club having played youth football for AFC Bitterne Jaguars and Winchester City.
During his scholarship, Plain gained valuable game time while on work experience loans with Ringwood Town and Bashley in the Wessex League in 2018/19.
He was in the Cherries squad which reached the quarter-final of the FA Youth Cup in 2018/19 and involved as the under-21s lifted the Central League Cup in April 2019.
During the 2019/20 season, Plain joined Wimborne Town on a work experience loan and trained with the England under-18 and under-19 goalkeepers at St George’s Park.
In 2022/23, Plain was an unused substitute in a number of Premier League games, acting as cover for Mark Travers when Neto was sidelined due to injury.
